Baccarat is a casino card game. It is one of the easiest casino games to learn and hence is hugely popular. Two croupiers stand at the center of the layout, selling chips, collecting and paying off the players. Another croupier (caller) sits opposite to these dealers who directs the game and announces the winner.

Baccarat is a simple casino game with possible results of 'Banker', 'Player', and 'Tie'. The terms player and banker do not refer to the customer and the house, however these are options to bet on.

Rules playing Baccarat -

Six-deck or Eight-deck shoe is used to play baccarat. 10's and face cards will not have any value. Face value is counted for the cards less than 10. Aces are valued as 1. Scores are calculated by adding the value of the cards and by doing a modulo of 10. For example, a hand consisting of the card values as 3 and 4 is worth 7. A hand consisting of 7 and 8 is worth 5 - the first digit of the total is dropped because of 15 modulo 10.

Initially, the players can bet on Player or Banker or on Standoff. Each is given two cards by the dealer, first to the player and then the banker. The goal of the game is to lay a wager on the hand that could have the highest total value.

Either or both the player and the banker will be given a third card on the following three-card-rules.

Player's third-card-rule:

If the total of the first two cards is 8 or 9 of either the banker or the player, the hand is over, and is called a Natural.

If the total of the first two cards of the player is less than or equal to 5 then a third card is drawn.

Bank's third-card-rule:

If the sum of the cards of the bank's totals to two or less then bank draws a card, whatever the player's third card might be.

If the sum of the cards of the bank's totals to three and the player's third card was not an eight, the bank draws a third card.

The bank will draw a third card only if the player's third card was other than 9, 8, 1 or 0 and the sum of the cards of banks is four.

If the sum of the cards of the bank's totals to five and the player's third card was 7, 6, 4 or 4, the bank will draw a third card.

If the sum of the cards of the bank's totals to six and the player's third card was 6 or 7, the bank draws a third card.

The bank stands if the total is 7.

The hand with the highest count wins once the dealing is completed. If both the Player's hand and the Banker's hand have the value in common the croupier shall announce "Tie bets win."
